Sad Death of James Todd of Kendallville.

James Todd, a well known citizen of Fremont township, Winnesheik{sp} county, came to a sad death on Tuesday the the{sic} 19th by drowning.

The deceased has been ailing for some time. On Tuesday night he arose took a cup and started for a spring on the bank of the river apparently to get a drink; a not unusual occurrence, as he was troubled with sleeplessness. He frequently arose during the night and took a walk. It being dark he missed the path which runs near the edge of the bank, and fell into the river, a distance of about twenty feet falling on his head cutting a severe gash which must have stunned him so he was unable to get out.
