Decorah- Helmer I. Orvella, 95, died Thursday in Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Cora; a son, Willard of Decorah; two daughters, Lillian Bruvold of Decorah and Arlys Soeder of Waverly; a brother, Grant of Seattle; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Washington Prairie Lutheran Church. Burial: Washington Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at Fjelstul's and one hour before service time Monday in the church.
