Gene Raymond Stockman, 75, of Frankville, Iowa died Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse, Wisconsin. He was born on December 6, 1938 to Lester and Florence (Duffy) Stockman in Postville, Iowa. Gene was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, Iowa. He attended Highland Country School in rural Postville and Postville High School.

Gene enlisted in the Army Reserves in 1957, served in Wiesbaden, Germany and was honorably discharged in 1959. He was united in marriage with Annemarie Schauer on September 13, 1958 at the United States Air Force Base in Wiesbaden, Germany. Three children were born to this union, Bruce, Barbara and Brian. Gene loved his Family, his beloved Dachshunds, restoring/repairing old Tractors, going on Tractor rides, visiting with friends and working in the Garden. He was a member of the Frankville Presbyterian Church.

Gene is survived by his wife, Annemarie of Frankville; his three children, Bruce (Airene) Stockman of Postville, Barbara (Paul) Spies of West Union and Brian Stockman of Decorah; nine grandchildren, Kelsey, Korey, John, Justin, Jean, Jaci, Paul Jr., Emily and Grace; two sisters, Karen (David) Handley of Lubbock, Texas and Sharon Stockman of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sisters-in-law, Hannelore Bessler and Lilo Wagner, both of Germany and many nieces and nephews.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jimmy Stockman in infancy; his mother and father-in-law; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Gene’s honor may be directed to the Frankville Presbyterian Church, Frankville, Iowa.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 from 4-7 pm at the Frankville Presbyterian Church, Frankville, Iowa with a one hour visitation before services at the church on Thursday.

Funeral Services will be at 11 am on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Frankville Presbyterian Church, Frankville, Iowa with Rev. Gary Catterson as the Officiant.

Inurnment will be held at a later date with Military Honors.

Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Postville, Iowa is helping the family with the arrangements.
