Brian Richard Steele

Brian Richard Steele, 28, of Decorah and formerly of LaCrosse, Wis., died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Aug. 28, at 10 a.m., at Blessed Sacrament Catholic church in LaCrosse, Wis., with the Rev. Robert Hundt officiating. Burial was at the Woodlawn North Cemetery. The Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of LaCrosse, Wis., handled arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, it was noted memorials may be given to establish an educational fund for Brian's children.

Brian was born Feb. 27, 1972, in Richland Center, Wis., the son of Richard and Sheila (Wagner) Steele. He was a 1990 graduate of LaCrosse Central High School. Brian received a bachelor of science degree in marketing with a minor in mass communications from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in 1995.

At the time of his death, Brian was the manager for the Couttesy Corporation's McDonald's Restaurant in Decorah, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Rochelle and 2 children, Cassondra, 7, and Joshua, 1; his parents, Richard and Sheila Steele of Onalaska, Wis.; 2 sisters, Jeannie Steele of Pueblo West, Colo., and Cherie (Brent) Reinhart of LaCrosse, Wis.; his father-in-law, Peter Samb of Eau Claire, Wis.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
