Ole H. Woldum Dies At His Home in the City The Decorah Journal: June 20, 1928

Prominent Garage Man Passes Away After 8 Months' Illness Ole H. Woldum passed away at six o'clock Thursday morning, June 14, 1928, at his home at 314 West Main street in this city. Cancer of the bone was the cause of his death. He had been ill the past eight months but was only confined to his bed the last day of his life.

Ole H. Woldum was born in Lærdal, Norway, December 2, 1868, and was the son of Halvor and Ronvae Woldum. When he was about 15 years of age he came to the United States and to Winneshiek county, Iowa. On December 19, 1901, he united in marriage with Miss Gunda Gunderson at Waukon, Iowa, where they resided seven years and where Mr. Woldum was connected with the International Harvester Company.

From Waukon they moved to Strathmore, Alberta, Canada, where they spent eight years in farming, and moved from there to Decorah 11 years ago. During the past 11 years, Mr. Woldum has been in the garage business and sold the Buick Car in Decorah. He was a member of the Elks lodge.

Mr. Woldum is survived by his aged parents, who reside in Decorah, his wife, one son, Grant, one daughter, Viola, all of Decorah; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Sanden of Seattle, Washington and Mrs. Christie Nasset of Glenwood township, Winneshiek County, Iowa, and four brothers, Martin, John and Halvor of Decorah and Nels of Strathmore, Alberta, Canada. To these the sympathies of their numerous friends is extended.
