Lawrence “Larry” N. Lynch, age 66, of Decorah, IA, died Thursday, September 5, 2013 at his home in Decorah of natural causes.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 9, 2103 at Congregational United Church of Christ in Decorah with Rev. Laura Arnold officiating. Inurnment will be in Phelps Cemetery in Decorah.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Monday, one hour before the service, at Congregational United Church of Christ.

Lawrence “Larry” N. Lynch was born December 21, 1946 in Decorah, Iowa, the son of Thomas C. and Florence (Nelson) Lynch. He was baptized and confirmed at Congregational United Church of Christ. He graduated from Decorah High School with the class of 1965. He received his B.A. degree with a major in Speech from Luther College in 1969, and then graduated with a B.S. degree from Arizona State University in 1975. He then became a school teacher in Douglas, Arizona. Larry was drafted into the United States Army, served for 2 years and was honorably discharged. For the next 10 years Larry worked as an announcer and sales person for various radio stations in California and Arizona. He then moved to Iowa City, Iowa and was an announcer and sales person at a local radio station. Larry then moved to Decorah and did sales work for KDEC, then worked through the Spectrum Network in Decorah.

Larry had many interests. He enjoyed music, performing in local plays, sports, current events, politics, art, environmental concerns, medicine, law and people. Larry was an avid reader and loved books. He was a member of Congregational United Church of Christ and enjoyed singing in the choir. Larry liked a good meal, family gatherings and holidays.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tom on December 18, 1979; and by his sister Julie Letkewicz on February 9, 2011.

Larry is survived by his mother, Florence Lynch of Decorah; one brother, Tim (Mary Kay) Lynch of Decorah; one brother-in-law, Larry Letkewicz of Naperville, IL; two nephews and two nieces: Patrick Lynch, Christopher Letkewicz, Courtney Letkewicz and Casey (Keegan) Davenport; and by aunts, uncles and cousins.
