GLENDALE, AZ - Grace E. Polansky, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 in Glendale, Ariz. Celebration of Her Life will be held Nov. 10, 2013 in San Diego, Calif., Greenwood Mortuary next to her husband Bill.

Grace Eileen Polansky was born Dec. 30, 1927, in Ridgeway, Iowa, the second daughter of Louis and Clara Lukas. She attended schools in Ridgeway and graduated from Rudolphinum Hign school in 1945 with honors.

She attended college at Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa becoming a teacher in Ridgeway and Notre Dame School in Cresco, Iowa.

On Sept. 4, 1948 she married William (Bill) Polansky and they had two daughters, Sherry and Susan. They farmed in Spillville, Iowa before moving to California for two years and relocated again in Cresco. Grace continued to teach and Bill did many jobs including owning a gas station that Grace did all of the accounting and business mangement. They relocated again in San Diego in 1971 and continued to work and live in LaJolla, Calif. Bill passed away in September of 1977.

Grace relocated to Portland, Ore. to be near her daughter Sherry Walton and son-in-law Jon Walton.

She loved Oregon very much but after 16 years she decided to move to Glendale, Ariz. near her daughter Susan Troller and grandchildren.

Grace is survived by her daughters: Sherry (Jon) Walton and Susan Troller; two grandchildren: Christie Troller and sons: Aiden and Cash; Ryan Troller (Erica) and sons: Conner and Carson; a sister: Jeanette Sandling of Indio, Calif.; a brother: Lester (Alice) of Calmar, Iowa; a sister: LaVinia Rilling of LaMesa, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents: Louis and Clara Lukas; and son-in-law: Steven Troller.
