Madonna Vine, age 75, of Decorah, IA died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 31, 2013 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, 307 West Main Street, Decorah, IA, with Rev. Phillip Gibbs presiding. Burial will be in the St. Benedict’s Cemetery, Decorah, Iowa.

Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 Thursday at Schluter Balik Funeral Home in Decorah there will be a rosary at 4:00. There will also be visitation Friday morning from 9:00 – 10:00 at the funeral home.

Madonna Catherine (Kupka) Vine was born September 3, 1937 to Charles and Mary (Barta) Kupka near Ft. Atkinson, IA. Madonna graduated from Ft. Atkinson High School in 1955. Madonna married Roger Vine on November 16, 1957 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Ft. Atkinson, Iowa. She worked as a waitress for years at Nob Hill, Jack and Jill, did home daycare and Spectrum Industries before retiring. Madonna enjoyed doing puzzles, embroidery, making baby blankets, gardening, playing cards, bowling, scrabble and words with friends, mostly she enjoyed her family and grand and great grandchildren.

Madonna is survived by five daughters: Roxanne (Harlan) Gjere, Cresco, IA, Rhonda (Randy) Bates, Cedar Rapids IA, Renee Vine, Decorah, IA Ramona (friend Keith Fabian) Vine, Decorah, IA and Robyn (Kenny) White, Ridgeway, IA. Two sons: Ronald Vine, Des Moines, IA and Randall (Kellie) Vine, Broussard, LA. Seven grandchildren: Elizabeth (friend Chris Dahl) Gjere, Casey and Shelby White, Monica Lawrence, Dondee Corrigan, Jayme and Dustin Bates. Eight great grandchildren: Reed, Kayden, Kinnick, Allysyn, Karina, Alec, Antwone and Aliva. Five sisters: Mildred (Clyde) Straka, Cedar Rapids, IA, Marcella (Sonny) Sizemore, Kansas City, MO, Mabel Schwamman, Ft. Atkinson, IA, Maxine Brincks, Ossian, IA and Joanne Gerleman, Ft. Atkinson, IA. One brother: Myles Kupka, Ft. Atkinson, IA. Sister-in-law: Bonnie Kupka, Charles City, IA and Jenny (Jim) Thompson, Decorah, IA and many nieces and nephews.

Madonna is preceded in death by her husband: Roger 1991, Parents: Charles (Mary Barta) Kupka, Sister: Margaret (Hugo) Leibold, Two brothers: Mark and Marvin Kupka. Brothers-in-law: John Schwamman, Cletus Brincks, and Gene Gerleman. Mother and Father-in law, Clifford and Gladys (Arneson) Vine.
