A.P. Myrah, 84, Died Monday in Canoe Township
Andrew P. Myrah, 84, well known Canoe township farmer, died at his home Monday morning, April 10, at one o'clock. He had been ailing for several years, and was confined to his bed the last year and a half.
Mr. Myrah was born in Hakedal, Norway, Nov. 22, 1854, a son of Peter H. and Else Erickson Myrah. He came to the United States with his parents in 1869. They came to Winneshiek county, Iowa, settling on a farm in Canoe township, where the son grew to manhood.
He was married to Caroline Erickson at Ada, Minn., August 9, 1886. Mr. Myrah took up a homestead near Ada, and the family home was there for about four years. They came to Winneshiek county in 1889, and established their home on a farm in Canoe township.
Seven children were born to the union, Julius, Clarence, Elsie, Ida Amanda (deceased), Ingvald, Ida and Carl.
The surviving children are Julius and Carl at home; Clarence, Pleasant township; Ida (Mrs. Albert Boe), Springfield township; Elsie (Mrs. Theo. Severson), Beach, N.D.; Ingvald, Austin, Minn. The wife and mother also survive.
One sister, Mrs. Christine Stennes of Hendrum, Minn. and seven grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Myrah was one of Winnehiek county's most highly respected citizens. He was honest in his dealings with his fellowmen and was everywhere known as a honorable and upright man. Much sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones in their loss.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at one o'clock from the Fjelstul Funeral Home and at two o'clock from the Big Canoe church. Rev. T.O. Tolo will officiate and interment will be in the Big Canoe cemetery.

Funeral Today for Andrew P. Myrah of Canoe
Funeral services are being held this (Thursday) afternoon for Andrew P. Myrah, 84, at the Fjelstul Funeral home at 1 P.M. and at the Big Canoe church at 2 P.M., the Rev. T.O. Tolo officiating. Burial will be in the Big Canoe cemetery.

Caroline Erickson became his bride Aug. 9, 1886, at Ada, Minnesota. For four years they lived near Ada and then moved to Canoe township. They were the parents of seven children, Julius, Clarence, Elsie, Ida, Amanda (deceased), Ingvald, Ida, and Carl.
Besides his wife, Mr. Myrah is survived by the following children: Julius and Carl at home; Clarence, Pleasant township; Mrs. Albert Boe, Springfield township; Mrs. Theodore Severson, Beach, N.D. and Ingvald, Austin, Minn.
Mr. Myrah also is survived by one sister, Mrs. Christine Stennes of Hendrum, Minn., and seven grandchildren.
Pall bearers at his funeral were Olaus Erickson, Ingebret Erickson, Stanton Erickson, Harry R. Erickson, Albert Blegen, and Johnny Ellingson, all of whom are nephews.
