Spillville Widow, Mother of Four, Died Last Friday

Mrs. Eleanor Kostka, age 63, who had suffered from a heart ailment for several years died in Spillville Friday evening following two days of critical illness.

A requiem mass for Mrs. Kostka was said in the Saint Wenceslaus church in Spillville this morning. The Rev. John P. Chihak, pastor offered the mass, and burial was in the church cemetery.

Eleanor Shileny, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shileny, was born February 21,1886, near Jackson Junction, where she lived until her marriage. She became the bride of Charles Kostka November 3, 1903. Mr. Kostka preceded her in death several years ago.

They were the parents of four children, Mrs. Clara Trap of Oregon, Mrs. Viola Zoulek of near Spillville, Mrs. Lula Praska of Jackson Junction and Louis Kostka of Cedar Rapids. Besides her children Mrs. Kostka is survived by nine grandchildren and one great grandchild and her sisters and brothers, Mrs. Francis Panos of Little Turkey, Mrs. Christina Pechota of Provitin, Mrs. Stella Pelikan of Schley, Mrs. Emma Ludwig and Frank Shileny of Spillville and Joseph Shileny of Cedar Rapids. Preceding her in death there were three sisters, Mrs. Anna Formanek, Mrs. Mary Lucas and Mrs. Barbara Slifka and two brothers, John Shileny and Louis Shileny.
