Mrs. Hannah Perry, nee Pelton, was born in Lincoln Co., Maine, Oct. 28, 1804, and died at her home near Castalia, Oct 18, 1891.

In (looks like 1825 or 1835)she was married to Job Perry, who died in 1878. They removed to Winneshiek Co., Iowa, in 1854, where they resided until death called them, we trust, to a better home.

She was the mother of five boys, four of whom survive her. She united with the Baptist church in 1851. During her last illness she gave frequent expressions of an abiding trust in her Savior, which sustained her in her last trial. The funeral services were conducted in Castalia, by Rev. E. J. Lockwood, of Postville.
