Carrie Nelson Stromsodt
Mrs. Carrie Nelson Stromsodt was born December 26, 1871 in Ringerike, Norway, the daughter of Nels O. and Oline E Stromsodt. She came to this country with her parents in 1872 and settled in Calmar, where she became a member of the Calmar Lutheran Church.
She was united in marriage with Andrew O. Stromsodt. To this union 5 children were born.
She passed away April 27, 1962 at the Good Samaritan Home in Mason City, Iowa at the age of 90 years.
While a resident of Postville, Mrs. Stromsodt lived with her daughter, Mrs. Clara Reincke. She attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was an honor roll member of the Women of the Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons, Olaua and Ingval and 2 brothers, Ole and Norval.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Clara Reincke and Mrs. Francis Hart of Postville and Mrs. Agnes Mott of Calmar, Iowa; 2 grandchildren, Miss Constance Mott of Longmont, Colorado and Russell Stromsodt of Austin, Minnesota.
Services were held May 1, at 2 p.m. at the Calmar Lutheran Church with The Rev. L. C. Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Calmar Lutheran Cemetery.
