Norma Dady

Norma Aretta Dady, 83, of Des Moines and formerly of Decorah, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at Iles Funeral Homes-Grandview Park Chapel in Des Moines. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at Woodland Hills Church of Christ, 2484 SE 68th Street, Des Moines. Burial is at Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery.

Norma was born July 27, 1929, in Decorah, to Harold and Amanda (Stegen) Steele. She and Junior Dady were married Nov. 11, 1948, and they made a home together in the Des Moines area most of their lives. She was a member of Glenwood Lutheran Church in Decorah. She enjoyed painting, crafts and her many fishing trips to Canada. She will be remembered for her compassionate care of others and her joke telling.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Lyle (Vicki) Dady; daughter, Cheryl Dady; brother, Melvin “Ray” Steele, of Decorah; three sisters, Harriett (Burlin) Fayne, LaVerne Paidar and Juanita (Jerry) Prideaux; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Dady in 1983; son, Larry Dady; infant son, Laurel Lloyd Dady; brother, Harold “Heb” Arthur Steele and sister, Lillian Shriber.
