Richard Leibold

Richard J. Leibold, 81, of Onalaska, Wis., died Monday, April 23, 2012, in his home. Funeral services were 11 a.m., Friday, April 27, in the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. So., La Crosse, Wis. Rev. Tom Meyer officiated, with entombment with military rites by the Roy L. Vingers American Legion Post 52, held in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park, La Crosse, Wis. Family and friends called from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Family and friends also called from 10 a.m. until the time of services in the funeral home Friday. He was born in Spillville Sept. 21, 1931, to Arthur and Mary Ann (Wagner) Leibold. He married Arlene Hammon Sept. 3, 1955, in First Lutheran Church, Onalaska, Wis. Dick graduated from Austin High School, Class of 1948, Austin, Minn. He served our country in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was a proud veteran and continued to help other veterans by volunteering at the DAV and The VA in Tomah, Wis. He was employed at Trane Co. for 27 years until his retirement and was a proud member of the Trane Co. 25 Year Club.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene, of Onalaska, Wis., two sisters, Mabel (Herman) Foster of Austin, Minn. and Diane (Matt Gleason) Leibold of Geneva; one brother, Bruce (Sally) Leibold of Decorah; sisters- and brothers-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
