Ex-Decorah man dies in bike accident A former Decorah resident was killed in a motorcycle accident in Tipton early Tuesday. Robert W. Tieskotter, 34, of rural Tipton, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The Tipton Police Department received a report of a man down on the Tipton Country Club property adjacent to South Street at about 6 a.m. The investigation revealed that the victim was Tieskotter, but no other information about the accident could be obtained. The accident is still under investigation. The Tipton Police Department was assisted by the Iowa Highway Patrol, Cedar County Sheriff's Office and the Tipton ambulance crew.

Killed in a motorcycle accident on July 5 1988 after leaving a softball game. His team won the championship game and he was going home. He was coming around a corner and Andrew, (his Uncle) thinks someone forced him off the road. His motorcycle jumped the ditch but hit concrete and flipped over breaking his neck. He was found the next morning.
