Floyd Ryan, a life long resident of Winneshiek county, passed away at St. Joseph’s Mercy hospital in Cresco, Sunday afternoon January 2, about 4:30 o’clock p. m., after a serious illness of about five weeks.

Floyd Ryan, second oldest son of Mrs. George Ryan, was born Oct. 1, 1903. He was 34 years, 3 months and 2 days old at the time of his death.

He leaves to mourn his untimely departure his mother, Mrs. George Ryan; four brothers and four sisters: Gerald, Clement, Clarence and Francis, all of Cresco; Leone, (Mrs. John Konrad), of Aurora, Ill.; Gladys, (Mrs. Richard McCabe), Angeline, (Mrs. Paul McGee) of Austin, Minn., and Madline of Cresco. His father, George Ryan and brother Philip preceded him in death several years ago.

Funeral services were held at St. Agnes’ church at Plymouth Rock Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock with the Rev. Father J. J. Brickley reading the High Mass of Requiem. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery. The pall bearers were: Gerald, Clement, Clarence and Francis Ryan, all brothers of the deceased, and John Konrad and Paul McGee, his brothers-in-law.

Those who attended the funeral from away were: Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Woods and son Francis of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Arthur J. May, Manchester, Ia.; Mrs. Robert J. Kutchers of Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. John Konrad, of Aurora, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Paul McGee of Austin, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Doherty and family of Preston, Minn.; Mrs. John Cashman of Austin, Minn.; Francis and Lennis Brady of Fairmont, Minn.

We wish to express our sincere thanks to our many friends and neighbors for their kindness during the illness and death of our son and brother, also for the many spiritual and floral offerings.
