Charles W. Gossman

Charles W. Gossman was born at Burr Oak, Iowa, Feb. 9, 1889, and passed away Jan. 29, 1937, at the age of 47 years, 11 months and 20 days. Mr. Gossman lived in the community where he was born all of his life. He operated his own farm there the past 27 years.

He was married to Miss Mary Smith of Ohio in 1917. Their union was blessed with three children: Margaret, Monica and Wilfred.

Thirteen years ago Mrs. Gossman died and eleven years later he again saw his home broken by the loss of his daughter Margaret.

He is survived by his two children and five brothers: Andrew and Joseph of Burr Oak; Robert of Janesville, Minn.; Lee of Ada, Minn.; Willard of Wanatche,{sp} Wash. There are numerous distant relatives and many friends.

Funeral services, arrangements for which were in charge of A. J. Connor of the Easler Funeral Home of Cresco, were held at the Catholic church at Plymouth Rock Monday morning, February 1. The Rev. Father Hendricks officiated. Burial was at Plymouth Rock.

We wish to thank our friends and express our appreciation for every kindness shown us during our recent bereavement. We thank all who sent floral offerings, spiritual bouquets, donated cars for the funeral, or who in any way by word or deed assisted us.
