Merlin Schroeder services held

Funeral services for Merlin Schroeder of Decorah were held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Decorah with Rev. Gary Krapfl officiating. Interment was in St. Benedict’s Catholic Cemetery. French & Balik Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Merlin, 85, died Tuesday, September 11, 2001 at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo following a long illness.

He is survived by one daughter: Kim Bohr of Decorah; one son: Greg Schroeder of Blaine, MN; five grandchildren; two sisters: Ileta Tyler and June Palmquist both of Hot Springs Village, AR; and one brother: Norman of Las Vegas, NE.{sic}

Merlin was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers: Elliot, Palmer, Lowell, and Dale.
