Services held for Gladys McCabe

Funeral services for Gladys McCabe were held Monday, July 21, at the Assumption Catholic Church in Canton at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Gregory Havel officiating. Interment was in St. Agnes Cemetery at Plymouth Rock in rural Cresco. Lindstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Gladys M. McCabe, 88, died at the Greenlea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel, MN on July 17, 1997.

Gladys was born December 3, 1908, the daughter of George and Anastacia (Doherty) Ryan, in Winneshiek County. She was united in marriage to Richard McCabe and they farmed north of Canton.

Gladys is survived by six daughters, Darlene Hulett of Branson, MO, Alice McCabe of Seattle, WA, Rosella Peterson of Harmony, MN, Grace Reicks of Bella Vista, AR, Donna Weber of Branson, Mo and Marilyn Schorr of Lansing; four sons, Charles McCabe of Lanesboro, MN, Orvin McCabe of Atlanta, GA, Jim McCabe of Kirksville, MO and Roger McCabe of Harmony, MN; 47 grandchildren; 76 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Clement Ryan and Francis Ryan, both of Cresco.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Richard in 1973; two sons, George and Steve; three grandchildren; her parents; three sisters, Angie, Leone, and Madeline; and four brothers, Phillip, Clarence, Gerald and Lloyd.
