Mildred Kudrna, 84, services held

Funeral services for Mildred Marie Kudrna of Calmar were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Donald Hawes officiated.

Mildred, 84, died August 5, 1998 at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah after a long illness.

She was born April 8, 1914 in Cresco, the daughter of John and Anna (Schneider) Slifka. Mildred graduated from Cresco High School.

On May 9, 1936 she married Frank Kudrna in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar, where she was a member of the church and the Rosary Society.

Survivors include: one son, Robert Kudrna of Oelwein; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two brothers: Elmer Slifka of Mabel, MN, and Daniel Slifka of Cresco.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Frank on August 2, 1983; her parents; and two brothers: Jerry Slifka and Clarence Slifka.
