The funeral of Jacob Swartz, who died Friday morning, Jan. 24, at his home in Conover, was held on Monday morning at St. Aloysius Catholic church at Calmar. Rev. Joseph Vollmecke officiated. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining. The deceased had not been in good health the past year and for several weeks prior to his death has been confined to his bed. During his last illness he was tenderly cared for by his niece and nephew, Frank and Mary Swartz of Spillville. He leaves no immediate relatives, his wife and son having preceded him in death. A number of relatives from here attended the funeral.
