Owen Riley Puffer, infant son of Rachel Severson and Chaz Puffer, of Decorah, Iowa, was born and died on Friday, December 11, 2009, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, of Trisomy 18.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, with Rev. Bryan Robertson presiding. Burial will be in the Postville Cemetery, Postville, Iowa.

Friends may call from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah.

Owen is survived by his parents: Rachel Severson and Chaz Puffer, Decorah, IA. Grandparents: Donna & Kevin Eberling, Postville, IA; Matt & Shelly Severson, Spring Grove, MN; Joe Puffer, Cherry Point, NC; Lynn Puffer, Burr Oak, IA; and George Rau, Jacksonville, FL. Great grandparents: Vickie Harvey, Decorah, IA; Gerald Harvey, Decorah, IA; Vern & Diane Severson, Brooke Park, MN; Walter Puffer, Cresco, IA; Kay Puffer, Sacramento, CA; Ray & Flora Kendrick, Bremerton, WA; Shirley Eberling, Postville, IA; Tony & Deb Schulte, Spring Grove, MN and Mary Rau, Jacksonville, FL. Great great grandparents: Howard & Elsie Finnesand, Sisseton, SD; Ann Severson, Brooklyn Center, MN and Kay Mettille, Waterville, IA. Aunts & uncles: Thomas (Amanda) Severson, Christopher Severson, Michelle Severson, Keona Eberling, Kiele Eberling, Dallas Puffer, Gavin Puffer and Dalton Schulte.

Owen was preceded in death by his great great grandparents: Milo & Alma Harvey; Vernon Severson, Sr.; Karlton Eberling; Ray Mettille; and William & Ruth Doepke.
