Catherine A. Bengfort

Catherine A Bengfort died September 2 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arnold Moellers at Ossian, following a stroke. Funeral services were conducted in St. Francis de Sales Church, Ossian, September 5, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Hsu and the Rev. Russell M. Bleich officiating. Burial was in St. Francis cemetery.

Catherine A. Holthaus was born at Festina, Iowa on March 31, 1890, the daughter of the late John and Sophie Holthaus. On November 28, 1911, she was married to John Bengfort. Six children were born to this union: Marc of Mason City, Winifred (Mrs. Ray Zweibohmer) with whom she had made her home for 16 years, Ervin, who died August 11, 1961, Lucille (Mrs. Arnold Moellers) of Ossian, Virgil of St. Lucas, and Harold of Cresco.

Survivors include 12 great grandchildren, 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
