Sam Bergeson Died Sept. 28th at Rochester

Sam Bergeson, who was a ling time resident of Springwater, passed away Saturday, Sept. 28 at a hospital in Rochester, Minn., having been ill for some time.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Bergeson and was born in Woodstock, Ill. 67 years ago. The family came to Winneshiek county in an early day, settling at Springwater. His parents passed away some time ago. He is survived by two sisters and a brother. They are Mrs. Ida Kellogg of Decorah, Mrs Geo. Linzenmeyer, Hesper; and M.G.Bergeson of Minneapolis.

The deceased had many friends who will be grieved to hear of his death and much sympathy is extended to the bereaved sisters and brother in their loss.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Sept. 30 from the Lutheran church in Springwater. Rev. Ivar Havneros and Rev. O. Glesne officiated.

Death of Samuel Bergeson

Samuel Bergeson died in Minnesota, his remains were brought to the Springwater cemetery for interment.

Rev. Havneros gave the funeral address at the final rites. Rev. Glesne was also present. The two brothers-in-law of the deceased were pallbearers; Peter Ramlo and George Linzenmeyer, a niece's husband, Fred Ziegelmaier was one and Oscar Erickson, Harry Erickson and Narve Narveson were the other three.

Mr. Bergeson was a former resident of Springwater; his parents were Ole and Ingebor or Isabel Bergeson. They are also buried in Springwater.

Relatives attending the funeral were his sisters Mrs. Ida Kellogg of Decorah, Mrs. George Linzenmeyer (Sarah) of Hesper, his nephews and nieces and families; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ramlo, Mr and Mrs. Walter Ramlo, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Salveson, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Fawcett, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ziegelmaier, Miss Helen Ziegelmaier.
