Mrs. Anna Plank Died Wednesday Morning

Mrs. Anna Johnson Plank passed away at her home on Winnebago street this Wednesday morning after a weeks's illness from penumonia.

Anna Johnson Nelson was born Aug. 12, 1860 in Denmark and came to the United States when she was about 15 years old. She was united in marriage to John H. Plank in 1885, their marriage taking place in Winneshiek county in 1893, settling on a farm. Shortly after the death of her husband the deceased moved to Decorah about 22 years ago.

Nine children were born to his union, eight of whom survive. They are (Marie) Mrs. James Nelson, Canada; (Christine) Mrs. Chris Augustesen, Decorah; (Mahala) Mrs. Clyde Cutler, Chicago; John, Minneapolis, James, Houston, Texas; Peter, Kansas City, Mo.; William, St. Louis, Mo.; (Lena) Mrs. Myron Ramsey, Decorah. One daughter, (Hattie) Mrs. George Mead, passed away in 1921 in Hawarden, Iowa. Four brothers also survive. They are Nels of Elma, Iowa, Chris, Oelwein, Iowa, Fred, Cumberland, Wis., Christian in Denmark.

The deceased was a kind and loving wife and Christian mother and was beloved and esteemed in a large circle of dear friends. She was a woman possessed of a happy disposition always radiating sunshine and cheer and she will be greatly missed, not only by her children and brothers, but by all her host of friends who extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved ones left to mourn.

The funeral services will be held from the Henry Ness funeral home on East Water street at two o'clock Friday afternoon. Rev. O. Glesne will officiate and interment will take place in the cemetery at Springwater, former home of the deceased.
