Otto Olson, 79, Succumbs Friday

Otto E. Olson, 79 year old retired Canoe township farmer, passed away Friday, Aug. 29, at the county home at Freeport. Mr. Olson had been ill since he suffered a stroke about two weeks ago.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 2 (today) at the Springwater Lutheran church at 2 p.m. with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. I.M. Gjellstad officating. The Winneshiek funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

The pallbearers were Alert Engen, Gerhard Forde, John Johnson, Clarence Bidne, Ole Seegmiller, and Oscar Erickson.

Mr. Olson was born August 10, 1873, in Winneshiek County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lars Olson, both deceased.

He married Anna Goettleman on May 14, 1925 in Decorah. They had no children. Mrs. Olson passed away last year.
