Anna Grace DeCou 81 of Decorah died Tuesday July 4, 2006 at the Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah after a long illness.

Memorial Mass will be on Saturday July 8, 2006 at 11:00 at St. Agnes Catholic Church at Plymouth Rock By Rev. Donald Hawes Burial of ashes will be in the church cemetery

Anna Grace DeCou was born January 19, 1925 on the family farm near Plymouth Rock to Frank and Julia (Daley) Ryan. Anna Grace attended Winneshiek County country school and graduated from Canton High School in 1943. On January 25, 1945 Anna Grace married Donald DeCou at St. Agnes Catholic Church at Plymouth Rock, IA. They farmed near Burr Oak until 1972 when they moved to Burr Oak, where they owned and operated the Burr Oak Mercantile. They moved into the Oneota Apartments in Decorah in 1994, in March of 2006 they moved to the Oneota Riverview Care Facility.

Anna Grace enjoyed her dogs, watching sports, fishing, farming and going to "The Boat".

Anna Grace's survivors include her husband; Donald of Decorah, IA. One son: David of Decorah, IA. Two sisters: Frances Ryan of Rochester MN. Jane Headington of Austin,MN. Two sisters-in-law Rose Ryan of Cedar Falls,IA. And Evelyn Ryan of Decorah, IA. Many nieces and nephews.

Anna Grace was preceded in death by her parents. One daughter; Shirley in 1952, three brothers; Harold, Edward and Layle Ryan. Four sisters; Phyllis McCabe, Mae Gossman, Doris Carr and Donna Whalen.
