Josephine Bullerman, age 95, of Calmar, Iowa, died on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at the Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, Iowa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 28, 2009, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar, Iowa, with Rev. Donald Hawes presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2009, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, French Chapel in Calmar, Iowa, and also after 10:00 a.m. at the church on Monday morning.

There will be a rosary at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Josephine Catherine (Zweibohmer) Bullerman was born on June 16, 1914, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Moellers) Zweibohmer in Ossian, Iowa. Josephine attended St. Francis – DeSales Catholic School in Ossian. Josephine married Raymond Bullerman on June 17, 1935 at St. Francis – DeSales Catholic Church in Ossian. Together they farmed east of Calmar for sixty-two years. They retired and moved to Decorah in 1997. In June of 2005, they celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary. Josephine enjoyed playing cards, quilting and especially gardening. She also enjoyed visiting with friends and family and going for drives. She especially loved and cherished her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandson. Josephine was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the Rosary Society.

Josephine’s survivors include her daughter: Audrey (Ron) Rear, Decorah, IA, and son: Norbert (Judy) Bullerman, Calmar, IA. Twelve grandchildren: Lynne (Rich) Rauk, Pamela (Bill) Kovarik, Joan (Brian) Busta, Douglas Ray (Sheila) Bullerman, Tricia (Chad) Busta, Nadine Bullerman, Rebecca Bullerman, Liane (Chuck) Kroemer, Lisa Rear, Laurie (Frank) Benjamin, Linda (John) Power and Leslie (Dan) Holmes. Twenty-three great grandchildren: Crystal, Joshua, Taylor & Olivia Rauk; Keith Kovarik; Blake, Evan, Breanna & Logan Busta; Tiana, Tayton, Kaden & Kiara Bullerman; Kennedy & Xavier Busta; Jacque & Ben Kroemer; Thomas, Zachary & Sarah Benjamin; Erin Power and Danielle & Gabrielle Holmes. One great great grandson: Dominic Seegmiller. One sister: Helen (Adrian) Freidhof, New Hampton, IA. Five sisters-in-law: Armella Zweibohmer, Decorah, IA; Hilda Zweibohmer, Alta Vista, IA; Kathryn Uhlenhake, Ossian, IA, Leona Bullerman, Calmar, IA; and Irma Bullerman, Calmar, IA; along with many nieces and nephews.

Josepine was preceded in death by her parents: Henry and Margaret (Moellers) Zweibohmer. Her husband: Raymond Bullerman on October 15, 2005. Six brothers and sisters-in-law: Hugo (Angela) Zweibohmer, Felix (Veronica) Zweibohmer, Hubert Zweibohmer, Alphonse Zweibohmer, Aloysius Zweibohmer, and Gustave Zweibohmer. Three sisters and brothers-in-law: Marie (John) Bullerman, Betty (Herman) Rust and Rita (Vendolin) Timp. One sister-in-law: Helen Bullerman. Three brothers-in-law: Vincent Bullerman, Leonard Bullerman & Ray Uhlenhake.
