Ann Lee Zalk, age 59, of Edina, Minnesota, died Sunday, November 20, 2005 at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah of heart failure

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Normandale Lutheran Church in Edina, Minnesota by Rev. Dale Howard with a reception following at the church.

The family will greet friends from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, November 25, 2005 at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel, 5000 West 50th Street and Highway 100 in Edina, Minnesota. Local arrangements were completed by Fjelstul Funeral Home of Decorah, Iowa.

Ann Lee Zalk was born July 8, 1946 in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of Dr. David P. and Helen (Chamberlain) Anderson. She and her sister Jane were raised in Austin. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work from the University of Minnesota.

She and her husband Bob were married for 36 years. To this union, two daughters were born: Amy and Jenna.

Her care for others was evident in all she did as a wife, mom, sister, friend, social worker, teacher, interior designer, and full time caregiver. Ann Lee loved her summers at Ten Mile Lake near Hackensack, Minnesota. She enjoyed sailing, being outdoors and reading good literature.

Family and friends were Ann Lee's greatest joy. She had a bright and loving spirit and was able to connect with people of all ages and walks of life. Her faith sustained her throughout life and especially helped her to face a difficult year of illness with great strength and courage. Her family wishes to thank all who walked with her.

She is remembered with love by her husband, Robert Zalk of Edina, MN.; two daughters, Rev. Amy and her husband, Rev. Matt Larson of Decorah, IA, Jenna and her husband Dr. Peter Berendzen of Cedar Falls, IA; a grandson Nathan Larson; a sister, Jane Greco of Maplewood, MN, many nieces and nephews and many brothers and sisters-in-law.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
