David Frana, age 75, of Decorah, IA died Saturday August 20, 2011 at Wellington Place Nursing Home in Decorah, IA.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 26, 2011, at Wellington Place Nursing Home, 2479 River Road, Decorah, IA, with Rev. Donald Hawes presiding. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be sent to Wellington Place, 2479 River Road, Decorah, IA, or to the Winneshiek Medical Center Hospice, 907 Montgomery St., Decorah, IA 52101.

David William Frana was born on January 29, 1936, in Calmar, IA, the son of Louis and Rose (Korbel) Frana. He attended school in Calmar and Fort Atkinson and later at Woodward Training School in Woodward, IA. He had resided at Wellington Place since 1980. While at Wellington, he did piece work for Camcar. He also worked at Spectrum. David was someone with a great sense of humor and a very good memory. He enjoyed visits with family and friends. He was an active participant in many activities offered at Wellington and enjoyed being a part of Special Olympics for many years. His favorite places to go were Mabe’s Pizza, Culvers and the Family Table.

David’s survivors include his two sisters: Clotiel Kuennen, St. Lucas, IA and Rosemary Shaber, Lewiston, ID, and one brother: John Frana, Decorah, IA, along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents: Louis and Rose (Korbel) Frana. Three sisters: Genevieve Rose in infancy, Loretta Ean, and Jeanne Meyer. brothers-in-law: Herman Kuennen, Norbert Ean and Arnold Meyer
