Howard Brechtel, of Ossian died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family. He is survived by his wife, Harriet; three children: Donna (Ronald) Boyer of Hawkeye, Bruce (Terri) Brechtel of Burnsville, Minn., Shelley (Richard) Anderson of Farmington, Minn.; five grandchildren: Carrie (Jeremy) Davis, Sarah Boyer, Richard (Megan) Boyer, all of Hawkeye, Charlet and Nickolas Anderson of Farmington, Minn.; two great grandchildren: Brianna and Tyler Davis of Hawkeye; one sister: Marlys (Theodore) Gustafson of Ridge Manor, Fla.; and one brother Lloyd Brechtel of Austin, MN. Also surviving are sisters-in-law; Georgia Nyenhuiss of Albert Lea, Minn. Pat Kermes of Hayward, Minn.; brothers and sisters-inlaw; Harold and Lorretta Kermes and Charlie and Mary Kermes, all of Hayward, Minn,. Services were Saturday, Feb. 12 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church in Ossian, with burial in the church cemetery. Conway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
