Funeral services for Alex R. Evenrud, 72, life long resident of Glenwood Township and Decorah, were held Tuesday afternoon at Steine Funeral Home with burial in Glenwood Lutheran Church.

Mr. Evenrud, who was retired, died August 25 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital.

Pastor Paul H. Christenson conducted final rites. Pallbearers were Oliver Ruen, Henry Loven, Leonard Iverson, Clifford Borseth, Leonard Ask and Cheser Hill.

Mr. Evenrud was born December 26, 1900 in Glenwood Township, the son of Anton and Metta Evenrud. He attended rural schools, served in World War II and was a member of First Lutheran Church.

Mr. Evenrud had never married. He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Mr. ans Mrs. Arthur Evenrud and sisters in law, Mrs. Roy Evenrud and Mrs. Dagny Evenrud, all of Decorah, and two nephews.

His parents, three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
