Private interment services for Leslie George Eugene Larson, age 84, formerly of Decorah, Iowa, were held at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine, Illinois.

Leslie George Eugene Larson was born June 29, 1918 in Decorah, Iowa. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, participating in the D-Day invasion. He married Darlene A. Welch and they were the parents of 5 children. Prior to his retirement, he was a finishing carpenter in the Chicago, Illinois area. He was a member of the Local 58 Carpenters Union and had also worked for eight years at the Elk Grove Village Post Office. He had the distinction of being one of the original members of the Elk Grove Village Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of the Elk Grove Senior Center.

Leslie George Eugene Larson died Sunday, February 16, 2003 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Arnold Larson, Minnie Larson, and Lorraine Reniger.

Leslie is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Darlene; 5 children, Leslee Anne Larson, Lynn M. Larson, Lee A. (Terry) Roggensack, Lenee M. Larson, and Lisa A. (Mike) Hoye; 2 grandchildren, Tom (Crissy) Chen and Delaney Hoye and 2 great-grandchildren, Alyssa Chen and Alexus Chen; and 4 siblings, Norval Larson, Walter Larson, Frances Campbell, and Virginia Rumbaugh.
