Conley H. Schweinefus, age 78, died at St. Luke's Hospital on Thursday, March 24, 2011. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 28 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, with Rev. Phil Jorgenson officiating. Interment was at 3:30 p.m. at the Hillside Cemetery in Ossian, Iowa. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Conley was born March 2, 1933 in rural Fayette County, Iowa to Herbie and Hazel Schweinefus. He graduated from the Ossian High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Conley married JoAnn Schultz in Ossian, Iowa on September 25, 1955. He retired as a production control supervisor at Harnischfeger in 1988. He was a member of Brotherly Love Lodge 204, American Legion Post 735 and Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Conley collected and searched out antiques. He was an avid Green Bay Packers, Hawkeye, and New York Yankee Fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, JoAnn; daughter, Connee Jo (Eric) Larsen of Indianola, Iowa; grandson, Christopher (Erin) Larsen; great-grandson Karter Larsen; siblings, DuWayne (Georgiann) Schweinefus of Decorah,Iowa, Janice Sorensen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Suzan (Curt) Brown of Hiawatha, and Nancy (Mark) Scheidel of Ossian, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
