Rites Held at Ossian Lutheran Church for Mrs. Fred Anderson, 78

DECORAH – Mrs. Fred Anderson, 78, of near Ossian died Sunday, May 23, at her home. She had been ill since Easter.

Serena Lotvedt was born Jan. 22, 1865, at Stavanger, south of Ossian, the daughter of Kristian and Gaste Lotvedt. She was married to Fred Anderson Dec. 20, 1884, at the Stavanger church. They were the parents of the following children, Mrs. Henry Nesset, deceased; Mrs. Louis Lee, Ossian; Mrs. Elmer Anfinson, Salt Lake City, Utah; Mrs. Carl Sersland, Decorah; Mrs. Earl Meyer, Cedar Rapids and Clarence Anderson, Ossian. She had 17 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The following brothers and sisters also survive. Mrs. Otto Anderson, Ossian; Mrs. Albert Lee, Ossian; Mrs. John Moen, Bluffton; Severt Lotvedt, Ossian, and Ole Lotvedt, Denver Colo.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Lutheran church at Ossian and funeral services were held there Thursday afternoon. Burial was in the Ossian Lutheran cemetery. She made her home with her son, Clarence, in Ossian during the summer and with her daughter, Mrs. Carl Sersland, winters.
