Ned A.Brown, age 86, of Decorah, Iowa died Thursday, July 30, 1987 at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah, Iowa. Funeral services were held Monday, August 3 at 11 a.m. in Decorah's First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Milo Lee officiating. Burial was in Phelps Cemetery with Sensor-French Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Todd and Douglas Brown, Robert Sweet, Michael Schick, Mark Severson and Keith Sersland.

Ned was born September 18, 1900 to William and Elizabeth (Dovenberg) Brown. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the First Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Emma (Brynsaas) Brown; 2 sons, Harris Brown of Austin, Minnesota and William Brown of Decorah, Iowa; 5 daughters, Harriet Leidahl, Dorothy Brooks, Shirley Schick and Sadie Sersland, all of Decorah, Iowa, and Lorraine Severson of Waukon, Iowa; 33 grandchildren, and 42 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Sadie Stratton of Decorah, Iowa and Carlie Bloomfield of Dayton, Ohio.
