Funeral services were held Saturday January 4 at 1:00 p.m. from Glenwood Lutheran Church, rural Decorah, Iowa for Edith L. Evenrud, age 68, rural Decorah, Iowa who died Thursday, January 2, 1986 at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, Iowa. The Rev. Landis Olson officiated. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery. She was a member of the Glenwood Lutheran Church where she was active in various church organizations. Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements Casket bearers were Arnold Dahlen, Howard Hanson, Roger Espe, Orville Loven, Adolph Ruen, and Austin Moen.

A former school teacher, farm partner, homemaker, and life-long resident of the area, she was born January 1, 1918 in Decorah Township, Winneshiek County, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Ida (Schimming) Tyler. She was educated in the area's rural schools and Decorah High School. She married Hayward Evenrud on October 5, 1940 at the Glenwood Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Gary and a sister in infancy.

Survivors are her husband, Hayward; a daughter, Mrs. Mark (Nancy) Winholtz of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and a son, Loren Evenrud of Minneapolis, Minnesota; 5 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Leonard Tyler of Rock Island, Illinois, Ralph Tyler of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Spencer Tyler of Decorah, Iowa.
