Kristine Karoline Sanden

Mrs. Kristine Sanden, 98, Hesper, died Friday morning at the Tweeten Convalescent Home in Spring Grove.

The former Kristine Karoline Knutson, she was born Jan. 30, 1886, in Leksvik, Norway, the daughter of Knute and Karen Knutson.

She married Anton Brenna on Nov. 13, 1910, in Norway. They came to the united States the same year. Mr. Brenna died Oct. 4, 1915. On March 24, 1924, she married Knute O. Sanden of Hesper. He died May 13, 1965. She had lived in Mabel and Hesper and was a member of the Hesper Lutheran church and its ALCW.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Lueda Street, Mrs. Calma Sanden both of Hesper, Mrs. Norris (Ruby) Erlandson, Mabel; two step-daughters; Mrs. Mary Grindeland, Spring Grove, Mrs. Clara Welper, Mabel; a step-son, Knute K. Sanden, Mabel; 6 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two infant daughter, a great-grandchild, four sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 21, at 1:30 p.m. at the Hesper Lutheran church. The Rev. Marilyn Hanson officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

The Mengis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
