Funeral services were held Monday, June 5 for Conrad J. Huber, who died Friday, June 2, 1989 at his rural Decorah, Iowa home in Hesper Township. He was 68 years old. The 11 a.m. services were conducted by the Rev. John Paisley at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Decorah. Burial was in the church cemetery with Fjelstul Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Emil Einck, Merlin Hanson, Harlan Hovey, Obert Sacquitne, Paul Schmelzer and Joseph Woodhouse.

Honorary pallbearers were Leon Hageman, Paul Halweg, Durwin Kallevang, Forest Little, Alton Losen, James Mickey, Elmer Neste, Lee Schissel, Merlin Snell, and Jesse Young.

Conrad was born July 16, 1920 in Spillville, Iowa to Hugo and Edna (Sobolik) Huber and graduated in 1938 from Decorah High School. He and Ruth M. Hageman were married February 9, 1944 in St. Benedict's church.They were the parents of two sons. He had farmed all of his life in the Decorah and Burr Oak, Iowa areas. He was a member of St. Benedict's church and Elks Lodge and had served as a Hesper Township trustee.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Wayne of Decorah and Alan of Washington, D.C.; a brother Earl of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and a sister Ruth Waldron of Waukon, Iowa.
