Murl's obituary from the Mabel Record of 29, April, 1932.

Murl Nelson, 34, Mabel cream hauler, died Wednesday morning at the St. Francis hospital in La Crosse, where he had undergone an operation for ulcers of the stomach a week before. His mother, Mrs. Chas. Hackett, was with him at the hospital at his death.

Funeral services will be held at the Hesper Friends church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the Hesper public cemetery.

Mr. Nelson was born in Winneshiek county October 12, 1987. He was a bachelor, and besides his step father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Hacket of this neighborhood, he is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Guy, of Mabel; Mrs. Knute Sanden, Hesper; Mrs. Lawris Flatten, Mabel; Mrs. Andrew Folkedahl, Highlandville; Miss Ruby Nelson, at home; and Norvel and Nels at home.
