Marjorie Treptow, 72, of Plainfield, died June 14, 1999, at Allen Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 17, at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Nashua with the Rev. David Kramer officiating.

Burial will be in the Harlington Cemetery in Waverly. The Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly is handling arrangements.

Marjorie was born May 15, 1927, in DECORAH, the daughter of Art and Millicent (Anderson) Vine. She graduated from DECORAH High School in 1945 and then attended a Western Union Trade School in Crawfordsville, Ind., for one year.

Following her schooling, Marjorie worked for a Western Union office in Keokuk, then Oelwein and finally she traveled throughout the state at different Western Union offices.

On Jan. 9, 1949, she was united in marriage to Paul Treptow in Decorah. The couple made their home in Waterloo, where Marjorie worked at Blacks clothing store.

The couple then moved to Janesville in 1960. In 1962, she became manager of the Sandpiper Bar in Waterloo until her retirement in 1973. They then moved to Plainfield.

Marjorie was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Nashua. She was active as a Girl Scout leader for many years and also was a member of church choirs and young couples' clubs.

Survivors include her husband, Paul; her three children, Pamela and Jim Schmidt of Janesville, Gregory Treptow of Plainfield, and Kimberly and Donald Blazek of Lawler; four grandchildren, Brock Schmidt, and Jamee, Johanna and Wyatt Blazek; and three brothers, Vane Vine of Rogers, Ark., Jon Vine of Freeport and Ame Vine of Center Point.

Marjorie Treptow was preceded in death by her parents.
