Lyle A. Stromsodt
Lyle Stromsodt, 77, of Fountain of Youth Spa, Calif., died Wednesday, Feb.14, 2001 in Vencor-Ontario Hospital in California.
Mass was held at 10 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Calipatria, Calif., with the Rev. Amador Lopez officiating.
Burial was in Riverside National Cemetery.
Lyle A. Stromsodt was born July 10, 1923 in Calmar to Arthur and Mildred (Rothmeyer) Stromsodt.
He served in the U.S. Army's 25th Infantry Division in the South Pacific during World War II from 1943 to 1945.
He married Louisette Holverson in Calmar on Oct. 17,1946.
After the war, Lyle Stromsodt worked as a printer for the Richmond Independent in the Bay area for 35 years, retiring in 1981.
He moved to Fountain of Youth Spa in 1985.
He was a member of the American Legion Post in Bombay Beach, Calif.
Survivors include his wife, Louisette Stromsodt of Niland, Calif.; two sons, Lyle John and Lynell Stromsodt of Buena Park, Calif., and Anthony Wayne Stromsodt of Reno, Nev.; daughters Lynda and Mickey Jones of Valencia, Calif., and Kathryn and James Campbell of Whittier, Calif.; a sister, Mary Ellen and Sherald Sluka of Exeter, Calif.; an aunt, Edna Stromseth of Decorah and eight grandchildren.
