ROBERT JONES, 76, of Decorah, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, Jan. 14, at 10:30 a.m., at the French & Balik Funeral Home with the Rev. O. Paul Hougen officiating. There is no visitation. The body has been cremated.
Survivors include two sons, Curt Jones of Decorah and Doug Jones of Portland, Ore.; one daughter, Julie Atwood of Seattle, Wash.; four grandchildren; one brother, John Jones of Maquoketa; and one sister, Betty Haling of Hayward, Wis.

Robert Jones
Robert Jones, 76, of Decorah died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Memorial services were held Thursday, Jan. 14, at 10:30 a.m., at the French & Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, with the Rev. 0. Paul Hougen officiating.
The body was cremated. Mary Beth Bouska was the organist and Ellen Rockne was the soloist.
Robert was born Nov. 21, 1922, in Davenport, the son of John and Lillian (Hattendorf) Jones. He was in the United States Army from 1943 until 1945.
On July 1, 1948, he was united in marriage with Virginia Dick in Dubuque.
Robert was a highway patrol officer from 1955 until 1978.
Survivors include three sons, Curt Jones of Decorah, Doug Jones of Portland, Ore., and Julie Atwood of Seattle, Wash.; four grandchildren; one brother, John Jones of Maquoketa; and one sister, Betty Haling of Hayward, Wis.
Robert Jones was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Randy.
