Clarence J. Marhoul

Clarence J. Marhoul, 75, of Calmar, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, at the Ossian Senior Hospice in Ossian following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at 11 a.m., at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar, with the Rev. Donald Hawes officiating.

Alan Sensor was the organist. Darryl Luzum sang "On Eagle's Wings."

Casket bearers were Matt Novak, Jason Novak, Zachary Nesler, Jonathan Kipp, Dan Dietzenbach and Dennis Reidel.

Burial was at the St. Aloysius Cemetery. The French Funeral Home in Calmar handled arrangements.

Clarence was born April 12, 1924, in Cresco, the son of Anton and Maude (Kubik) Marhoul.

He attended country schools in rural Howard County. He farmed and then worked for Bucheit Produce. For several years Clarence worked at Calmar Manufacturing in Calmar.

He married Dorothy Huke Nov. 17, 1947, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Lourdes, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Calmar; three daughters, Eileen and Donnie Kipp of Ossian; Patty and Duane Novak of Rochester, Minn.; and Deb and Dewey Nesler of Rochester, Minn.; one brother, Ed Markovetz of
Cresco; and one sister, Emma Frankhouser of Cresco.

Also surviving are grandchildren Dennis and Julie Riedel of Mason City, Jon Kipp of Fort Atkinson, Dan and Michelle Dietzenbach of Festina, Melissa Kipp of Ossian, Jason Novak and Lori Maas of Rochester, Minn., Matt and Heidi Nova of Rochester, Minn., and Zack and Noah Nesler of Festina; and great-grandson Ryan Dietzenbach of Festina.

Clarence Marhoul was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Maude Marhoul; brothers Tony Marhoul, and Bill, Frank and Jim Markovetz; and sister Mary Andera.
