Myron A. Elsbernd

Myron Elsbernd, 71, of Calmar, died Monday, May 7, 2001 at the Oneota Riverview Care Facility in Decorah.

A Mass of Christian Burial service was held Wednesday, May 9 at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar with Rev. Donald Hawes officiating.

Organist Alan Sensor and the St. Aloysius Choir provided music.

Casket bearers were Rick Elsbernd, Mark Elsbernd, Robert Elsbernd, Dale Elsbernd, Dennis Humpal and Ronnie Elsbernd.

Interment was in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Calmar with arrangements by French Funeral Home of Calmar.

Myron A. Elsbernd was born Nov. 18, 1929 to Frank and Ida (Heying) Elsbernd on the family farm south of Calmar.

He attended St. Aloysius Catholic School and worked on the family farm.

He enjoyed watching baseball on television and smoking.

Myron Elsbernd spent the last 30 years in nursing homes in Mediapolis and Decorah.

Survivors include three brothers, Cletus and Georgina Elsbernd of Calmar; Linus and Ruth Elsbernd of Fort Atkinson and Romuald and Florine Elsbernd of Calmar; one sister, Virginia Humpal of Calmar and many nieces and nephews.

Myron A. Elsbernd was preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Elsbernd and a brother-in-law, Virgil Humpal.

Services today for Myron Elsbernd
Funeral services for Myron Elsbernd will be held today, Wednesday, May 9, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar with Rev. Donald Hawes officiating. Interment will be in St. Aloysius Catholic Church Cemetery in Calmar. French and Balik Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
