Donald L. Timp

Donald L. Timp, 75, of Calmar, died on Monday, Nov. 13, 2000 at Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on November 16, 2000, at 11 a.m. at
St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar.

The Rev. Donald Hawes and the Rev. Robert Hirsch officiated.

Internment was at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Calmar. Arrangements were handled by French Funeral Home in Calmar.

Donald Timp was born on July 12, 1925, the son of Theodore and Ida (Holthaus) Timp in rural Calmar. Donald attended St. Aloysius Catholic School in Calmar. He worked as a farm hand until 1953 when he took over the family farm.
Heying at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Festina. In 1976 he purchased a bulk milk route and ran that until 1983, when he retired. Donald's greatest love was his grandchildren. He also enjoyed WWF Wrestling

Surviving Donald are his wife, Elsie Timp of Calmar; six children, Joseph Timp and Sandra of Castalia; Robert Timp and Deb of Deborah; Laura Taylor and Howard of Fort Atkinson; Margie Ashbacher and Rodney of Calmar; Patrick Timp of Owasso, Okla.; and Daniel Timp of Calmar. Also surviving Donald are thirteen grandchildren: Jeremy, Brett, Tara and Bryce Timp; Eric, Scott and Andrea Timp; Miranda, Renee, Heather and Vanessa Taylor; Aaron and Austin Ashbacher; and one great-grandson, Logan Timp. Donald is also survived by one brother, Vendolin Timp and Rita of Fort Atkinson; and three sisters: Dolores Kuboushek of Spillville; Seraphia Tekippe and Paul of Fort Atkinson and Arlene Bohr and Wilfred of Cresco.

Donald was preceded in death by his three children: Shelley in 1965 at the age of 10; Mary in 1967 at birth and Michael in 1988 at the age of 22. Also preceding him are his parents and a brother Duane in infancy.
