Mary Lou Klimesh

Mary Lou Klimesh, 80, of Spillville, died Friday, June 15, 2001 at the Barthell Eastern Star Nursing Home in Decorah.

Mass of Christian Burial services were held Thursday, June 28 at 11 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville with Rev. Donald Hawes officiating.

Organist was Doris Thompson and soloist was Dan Silhacek.

Casket bearers were Rick Hosper, Heather Klimesh, Michael Klimesh, Tom Bernatz, Eryn Klimesh and Steven Klimesh.

Interment was in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Spillville. Balik Funeral Home in Spillville handled arrangements.

Mary Lou Klimesh was born Feb. 10, 1921 in Spillville to Henry and Otilla (Kovarik) Haug.

She attended St. Wenceslaus School in SpilIville, graduated from Decorah High School in 1938, and graduated from Clark College in Dubuque in 1942 with a bachelor of arts degree.

She married Frank Klimesh June 8, 1943 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville.

They operated the Haug Hardware Store in Spillville for many years.

Mary Lou Klimesh was a lifetime member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and a member of the Spillville Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons, Michael and Steven Klimesh of Spillville and four grandchildren.

Mary Lou Klimesh was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
