NORMAN "TODDY" LARSON, 55, of Omaha, Neb., and formerly of Ossian, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 1998, at the Aksarben Manor in Omaha.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Schmitz Funeral Home of Ossian.

Norman Arthur Larson

Norman "Toddy" Larson, 55, of Omaha, Neb., and formerly of Ossian, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 1998, at the Aksarben Manor Nursing Home in Omaha, Neb.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 1 p.m., at the Ossian Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Wayne Ellingson officiating.

Casket bearers were Conley Schweinefus, Mark Larson, Louie Frey, DuWayne Schweinefus, Jason Larson and Mark Scheidel.

Interment was at the Stavanger Lutheran Cemetery, rural Ossian. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Schmitz Funeral Home of Ossian.

Norman Arthur Larson was born June 28, 1943, in Davenport, Scott County, Iowa, the son of Norman and Etheleen F. (Schweinefus) Larson. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith and later was confirmed at the Ossian Lutheran church.

At about 7 years of age "Toddy", along with his family, moved to Ossian from Davenport. He attended the Ossian Public School.

After his schooling, he was employed at Cahill's Market in Ossian, where he learned the meat cutting and butchering business.

"Toddy" moved to Cedar Rapids in 1968 and was employed at Daniel's Meat Market until 1978. From that time until a little over a year ago, he was employed by a family meat market in Omaha.

"Toddy" enjoyed playing cards, euchre and cribbage. Since becoming sick, he had lived at Aksarben Manor in Omaha.

Survivors include three sisters, Linda Bakken of Decorah, Donna (Louie) Frey of Hiawatha, and Beverly (Robert) Full of Columbia, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Marlys Larson of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

Norman "Toddy" Larson was preceded in death by his father, Norman, in 1979; by his mother, Etheleen, in 1978; a brother, David Larson, in 1989; and two sisters, Sharon Larson in infancy, and Barb, twin sister of Beverly, also in infancy.
