Vivian "Pede" Jensen
Vivian "Pede" Jensen, 85, of West Union died Friday, Oct. 1, 1999, at the Good Samaritan Home.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 4, at 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church of West Union with the Rev. Kay Roath officiating
Mona Whitver was the organist. Vocalists were Marlene and Wayne Bicknese.
Casket bearers were Craig Jensen, Kurt Jensen, Brandon Pape, Jentry Jensen, Collin Jensen and Jay Jensen. Ushers were Jim Boelman and Bill Roath.
Burial was at the West Union Cemetery. Arrangements were by Burnham-Wood Funeral Home.
Vivian "Pede" (Tupper) Jensen was born March, 14, 1914, in West Union, the daughter of Lloyd and Georgia (Eastman) Tupper. She graduated from West Union High School and attended Upper Iowa College in Fayette.
She married Kenneth Jensen Dec. 3, 1932 in Galena, IL. They farmed north of West Union until they retired and moved into town in 1977.
Kenneth died in 1994 and Pede entered the Good Samaritan Home in West Union in 1997.
Pede enjoyed her family, cooking, gardening and was an avid fisherman. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and was active in United Methodist Women and her circle.
Survivors include her children, Kenneth G. and Barbara Jensen of Decorah, Richard and Dorothy Jensen of West Union, and Leanne and Steve Berns of West Union; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Vivian "Pede" Jensen was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth in 1994; two sons, Brian in 1963 and a son in infancy; her parents; and a grandson, Jack Pape, who died in 1991.
