Funeral rites were conducted at the Schutte Funeral Home, Postville, Saturday, February 8, at 3:00 p.m. for Charles H. Letchford, who died at Veterans Administration Hospital, Iowa City, February 6, following a lingering illness. The Rev Keith Kensinger officiated.

Charles H. Letchford, son of R. Glenn and Ruth Evert Letchford, was born September 19, 1921 at Frankville and lived there most of his life.

He attended Postville High School and graduated in 1939. He also attended the Waukon Junior College, graduating in 1941. He had served in the Air Force during World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents. He is survived by a son Charles, Jr., two sisters, Mrs. Lester (Vivian) VanWey, Postville and Mrs. Herman (Virgean) Sanderson of El Paso, Texas.

Burial was in the Frankville Cemetery.
